So we had a great time in Asheville.

This weekend we went to a ’shindig’ honoring the recent wedding of a dear friend from work, and what a shindig it was! You know, I’ve been to some receptions where yeah, they were OK, but man was this one a party!! My friend Sarah (the bride) was absolutely glowing, and I’ve never seen her so happy. We had quite a few funny moments, too… like the time when our co-worker Alex sat down at the kiddie table, and ended up getting stuck in the chair!
We stayed at a B&B that was simply divine. I had never stayed in a B&B before, but I tell ya, this definitely won’t be the last! I don’t think I ever want to settle for a hotel again. The room was cozy, with lovely remote-control gas logs, a snuggly feather topper on the mattress, and sumptuous bed linens. And the breakfasts! For a foodie like me, it was heavenly. Honey-glazed pecans sprinkled atop french toast, a warm fruit compote, fresh juice, and some really great coffee started our day. Wow. I really could get used to that kind of fine living.
The only downside was one of the books that I picked up and started browsing during my visit. I really got caught up in the book (a story of the Vanderbilt family) and now I’m gonna have to go find one so I can finish it! Amazon.com, here I come!
