So I tried a new recipe this weekend…

On Saturday morning at our house, do you think we watch cartoons? Not on your life. Food Network all the way, baybee. So I’m watching Tyler Florence’s show “Tyler’s Ultimate” (did you know that Tyler is from Greenville?) and he’s making these pork chops that look to die for.
Lucky me, I had a whole package of chops in the freezer that I picked up from Publix a couple of weeks ago on sale. I didn’t need a whole lot of extra ingredients. Foodies - ok, addicts - like me like to keep all the gourmet staples on hand. Anyway, these chops were brined before being seared and roasted, then served with this warm apple and raisin topping that was so amazingly good I just can’t describe it… YUM!!
Michael loved it, but then again he will eat anything. The boys really enjoyed it, too. I think they were partly relieved that I didn’t bring out some kind of exotic something-or-another like I have been doing lately. I am always trying new recipes and I have to give them credit, they have tried at least one bite of everything that I have served. They may not be happy about it, but they at least try, with one notable exception: the homemade guacamole I made to go with the artichoke quesadillas. I guess they couldn’t stomach something that was already puke green in color.
Tomorrow we’re trying vegetarian chickpea burgers. I’ll let you know how well that goes over.

Okay girl, no fair not sharing the recipe now that I’m sitting here drooling over a potentially delicious porkchop smorgasbord! Ü Ya wanna share with your friend?
Love and Hugs,
Lori
