So I’m heartbroken this morning.

It’s been a rough week. First, I bagged a deer Tuesday morning on my way to work. OK so the guys might think “what’s bad about that?” but the problem was I used my car, not a bow or rifle. So, now my car has to go in the shop to get $2K worth of repairs and I have to get a rental. No big deal, really, it’s just one more hassle I have to deal with.
We had a huge deadline and a big release to go out at work yesterday so of course I’m exhausted.
And then I nearly have a heart attack (figuratively speaking, of course!) last night while watching my beloved Gamecocks on ESPN. You have either been under a rock for the past four days or you don’t care a fig about football if you didn’t know that Carolina hosted Auburn, the #2 team in the nation. I was afraid that it was going to be a worse debacle than when we got shut out against Georgia a few weeks ago. Much to my pleasant suprise, we actually scored. They hung with them and a very young offensive line did themselves proud. It was during the very last drive of the fourth quarter that I actually let myself hope… I thought they might tie the game and force overtime, but they just couldn’t quite pull it out. There were a few mistakes made, but I think that’s excusable in light of the heart and character those boys showed on that field last night. I guess it’s good for my heart that they didn’t win, I probably would be in the hospital right now!
Well, as the saying goes - “maybe next year!”
